Seniors make their final college decision in less than a week

The deadline for college decisions is quickly approaching. On May 1, seniors will have to put their deposit down at the school they plan to attend. They will have to inform the other colleges that accepted them that they don’t plan to go there next year.

It is a fun tradition that the seniors wear a tshirt with their college on it to school on this day. While students are excited to see where everyone is going, there will be plenty of seniors that struggled with deciding what college they will attend the day before.

While some kids have known where they were going since December, others are working against the deadline. Some are even flipping a coin, leaving it up to chance.

Students are getting nervous with the impending deadline, realizing that they have to make this important life decision in less than a week. It is important to keep your mind clear and focus on what you want in a college or what will be the best place for you.

Some students aren’t exactly stressed, they’re just being patient and waiting to make their decision until they have all of the information they need to make this important decision.

“It’s hard to pick a college- unless you’ve always wanted to go there- because that’s where you’re going to be living the next four years. I really want to make sure that I love the school because I would hate to switch schools if it doesn’t feel right,” Lily Mundell ‘17 said.

Get a checklist out and compare your choices. Talk it over with your parents. Contact the admissions offices. Do whatever you can do to make sure you are making an informed and confident decision next Tuesday.
