As the horn signaled the end of the first half of the powder puff game everyone excitedly awaited for the announcement of the homecoming court. It had been on the mind of the seniors for the past week and the crowd could feel the anticipation of the revealing of those elected. As a long time tradition of the high school every week leading up to the homecoming dance the senior class elects a group of their peers to be apart of the homecoming court. The court is usually consisted of five girls and five boys. The senior girls whose names were called to be apart of the 2016 homecoming court were Allison Hubbard, Hanna Sanford, Grace Ruppert, Liz Schumar, Erriana Rounds and Franny Aquino. Spectators cheered along with the students as the elected girls walked across the field with their escorts. The boys that were chosen were Sam Longstrenth, Gavin Stockton, Pierce Ruppert, Thomas Bailey, Hub Hejna and Luciano Amato. The homecoming court will have the opportunity to be apart of the homecoming parade and the chance to be voted for either homecoming queen or king. Homecoming court is a special thing to be apart of and the class of 2017 adds another great group to past courts.
