IS Blog Post #2

Week Two

March 16, 2018

Friday, March 16

Hi again, East! I hope you guys are doing well. I am so happy right now and have so much to tell you – a lot of stuff has happened in the past week! For starters, I just got back from my 3-day kayak trip which was a lot of fun. It was my first time camping out in the wild, so it was definitely an interesting experience for me. I learned a lot of new skills – ranging from understanding how to build a fire to knowing how to pee outside. While the trip was difficult at times, especially when we had to paddle against the wind in order to reach our camp site, it was a very fun and educational experience.

Today, I snorkeled for the majority of the day and saw multiple eagle rays, lionfish, and even a puffer fish! It was pretty cool. 🙂

Over the past week, I have noticed that everyone has been bonding on a deeper level. I think that after a week of being at the Island School, we have been getting more comfortable with each other. I’m beginning to feel more at home which has caused me to feel more happy and less homesick.

Nevertheless, I still miss home. I miss my  friends, my parents, my Journalism family, my Bella Voce family, and so many others, but I am loving it here and am so excited to see what the future holds.

Until next time,

Nora
