On Wed. Oct 5 the boys water polo team had their last home game of the season and had a brief ceremony in celebration of their seniors. The seniors on the team consist of Mikey Roberts, Grant Williams, Griffin Sheline, Joe Murphy, and Mitchell Brown and they all contribute something to the team that will be greatly missed next year. That night the boys participated in an intense game against Zeeland High School. When the clock ran out the game was tied at 7-7 and in overtime the pioneers unfortunately lost 8-9. Although the last home game didn’t end the ideal way the seniors would’ve liked, it was still a great last game for them to represent their school.

From the seniors perspective, this season was one they will never forget. “Something I will always remember is double dating with coach and his girlfriends sister after games,” Mikey Roberts ‘17 said. “Also I will cherish our late night practices and eating way too much food with the team.”

The seniors played a key role on this team and will greatly be missed next year. “I will miss all of the fun moments and experiences we shared and will remember them forever,” Bayer ‘18 said.

“My all time favorite memory is when mooned the stands and pool deck during a tournament.”

The team this year was one of the closest the school has had and hopefully next year they can have a team just as close.u
