After great seasons filled with fun and excitement, the EGR Boys and Girls basketball teams are heading to the playoffs.

The boys finished the regular with a solid record of 12-6. They are coming off of a huge win against Grand Rapids Christian which is giving them momentum heading into the playoffs. The boys will be taking on Forest Hills Central in the first round.

“We are pretty excited going into playoffs,” Marty Ward ‘18 said. “We have beaten Forest Hills Central once and we are confident that we can do it again.”

The girls had a very impressive season, finishing 16-3 in the regular season. Some of their highlight wins throughout the season were against Rockford and South Christian. On senior night, the girls also won a big game against Grand Rapids Christian. They are preparing to take on Greenville in the first round of the playoffs.

“Going into playoffs we are feeling pretty confident,” Mary Schumar ‘19 said. “We haven’t lost a game since the beginning of January and we are feeling good about how we will play during playoffs.”

Both the boys and the girls have been working hard to get ready for the playoffs. The girls’ run begins Feb. 26, and the boys’ run begins Feb. 28.
