Barnes’ Best: movies coming in 2018

Michael Barnes, Staff Writer

  1. Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 – On April 27, The accumulation of the 17 Marvel universe movies will finally hit the theaters, when all the heroes we’ve come to love will team up to fight Thanos in what will surely be one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.
  2. Incredibles 2 – I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for an animated movie; The Incredibles was certainly a bright spot in many of our childhoods and the nostalgia will be heavy watching this one.
  3. Black Panther – Director Ryan Coogler hasn’t made a dud yet, and based of the trailers and soundtrack this huge movie will be no different.
  4. Solo: A Star Wars Story – This film will dive into the origins of the beloved smuggler that made Star Wars into what it is today.
  5. The Endless – The Endless dives into the supernatural realm and should be on more people’s radars for 2018.
  6. Annihilation – After seeing the trailer for Natalie Portman’s newest thriller, it looks like it could be the unexpected movie that takes this years box office by storm.
  7. Entanglement – This low budget comedy starring Thomas Middleditch of Silicon Valley looks like one of the go to indie movies of this year.
  8. Deadpool 2 – Saying the vulgar and comedic tone taken in the first Deadpool worked would be an understatement, and I expect nothing less with the second.
  9. Tomb Raider – Movies based on video games have had a rough history, hopefully this will be the one that breaks the trend.
  10. Truth or Dare? – 2017 was the year for horror movies and this looks like it has a great chance to continue the trend.
