Last year the boys swim team came close to being state champions, but suffered a defeat to Holland Christian. This year, the boys have their sights set on taking home the winning title.

The team had intense preseason training this past offseason in hopes of having an advantage against other teams this season.

The team this year has strong senior leadership. There are five returning seniors who include David Morris, Joe Klug, Daniel Coles, Zach Sprague, and Trent Magers. This leadership and experience from these four-year swimmers will guide the team in the right direction.

Coles has a mental picture of what he wants to bring to the team this season.

“I hope to bring back a fun atmosphere to be successful as a team,” Coles said.

Morris is anticipating a successful season.

“Our goal is to win the state championship this year, and if we bring last year’s same hard work ethic, it will help us in achieving that goal,” Morris said.

Hunter Converse ‘20 knows the team will have to work hard to achieve its goals this season.

“In order to have a successful season this year, we have to work hard and focus on the details,” Converse said.

The last time the boys swim team were state champions was 2013. The best of luck to them this season and bring home the hardware.
