Soccer season is in full swing, and the Varsity soccer team has been crushing their competition. The season has been quite different from any other one due to many precautions that have been reinforced for the team to play. Even though there are strict rules, this team is committed to its goals and is ready to take on the rest of the season.

This team has had an extremely successful season so far, going 6-3. They started their season with a huge victory against Byron Center a few weeks ago. The win definitely boosted the team’s overall confidence and set the tone for games ahead.

Our best game was easily against Byron Center. Our team tends to be a second-half team, and against Byron Center, we played the whole game with everything we had. Even though the score was only 1-0, we dominated them” Borak said.

One COVID-19 requirement for soccer consists of wearing a mask at all times. This leaves players with shortness of breath and a lack of energy. Although this may be an obstacle, the team doesn’t let it affect the work and the effort they put in.

“Our goal is to keep winning as much as possible to build our confidence,” Borak said. “This is such a talented team, and we know we can go far in the district tournament and go on to win more tournaments then that. It’s going to be a good postseason.”
