Boys’ Lacrosse Team starts hot, aims high

The boys’ lacrosse team is off to an incredible start to the season. This team is so far undefeated and ranked fifth in the midwest by the US Lacrosse Magazine. To achieve that title, these boys work very hard on and off the field to make sure they are in the best shape possible for their season.

“We have had a pretty successful start to the season,” Kyle Conrad-Loew ‘21 said, “still strengthening our chemistry and making up for missing last year.” With COVID-19 ruining their season last year, the team is taking extra precautions to not have that happen again. “We have had to cut out some team activities, such as meals, and have been masking up all the time,” said Kase Vandermolen ‘23.

The team this year is jam-packed with talented athletes. The players on the team currently come from all different grade levels which can greatly affect the team. “Having a handful of underclassmen on the team is a lot of fun especially because they are some of the best on the team, help to keep it competitive and have everyone working to get better,” Conrad-Loew explained.

This team is aiming to compete for a state championship. These boys are so motivated for the end of the season and working together will help them achieve their goal. “We are getting our style down, and not many teams can compete when we’re humming,” Conrad-Loew said.
