Just a few miles down 96 you can find the 2023 National Football Champions; The Michigan Wolverines. They secured the first major playoff game in Pasadena, destroying the Crimson Tide. Then making their way to the game of all games at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, and killed the competition.
Head coach Mr. Jim Harbaugh led the boys we love to the win, bringing home the gold. Although he has now announced he has been hired as the head coach at the Los Angeles Chargers, he is still our “Michigan Man”.
We know our boy Jonathan James McCarthy is a hot topic, especially being newly engaged with an adorable new puppy, and headed to the NFL with the love of his life. We are all fangirling over the Instagram posts.
Honorable mentions like Zach Zinter, Rod Moore, Will Johnson, Donovan Edwards, Mike Sainristil, and Blake Corum contributed to winning.
With a very successful season from the offensive guard, Zach Zinter ended his season with a horrible injury. His chances of being a first-round draft pick diminished as he fell during the Ohio State vs. Michigan game breaking his tibia and fibula.
Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum put their life on the line for the team as the top running backs.
The three defensive players Rod Moore, Will Johnson, and Mike Sainristil brought the season home with their outstanding game-winning interceptions.
Whether or not you’re a Michigan Football fan, we can all thank the University of Michigan for showing up for our state and showing the country who the real champions are. With the controversial season, we pulled the ultimate win proving that “Michigan vs. Everyone” means something.
Although we are the champions of football this year, what will come of the program next year? Now that McCarthy is declaring for the draft, and the majority of the senior players are leaving, what is going to become of this new team?
Alex Orji, making his appearances throughout the season, is a real weapon on offense. Other recruits like Cole Cabana at running back and Amir Herring as an offensive guard can ensure us a lot of hope going into the 2024 season.
Michigan is already a decently prestigious school, how difficult is it going to be for the class of ‘25 to be able to have their applications accepted with them being new National Champions?
I’m proud to finally say that my team is a group of champions with everything this season. I’m proud of the players and coaches, for all of the loyal fans who stuck with them this season, and this is a year that will go down in history for the University of Michigan.
