Although the lights on Memorial Field are typically lit on Fridays, they’ll be on tonight at Rally on Reed’s.
Today the girls volleyball team will play their first-ever match on Memorial Field at 7 p.m. against Hopkins High School.
“Rally on Reeds is an outdoor game we’re playing, and it’s going to be a big community event,” girls volleyball captain Sadie Devlaeminck ‘26 said.
Organizers hope that Rally on Reeds is a great way to start school, fundraise for the volleyball team, and get viewers ramped up for fall sports with a Tiki theme and carnival games.
Along with the game on the field, there are activities to do beforehand in Gaslight Village to bring the community together. Events in Gaslight will start at 5:30 and the match will start at 7:00.
“There’s going to be a dunk tank, face-painting, some basketball, yard games, and more,” Devlaeminck said. Rumor has it, English teacher Sara Edleman will be wearing goggles in preparation for her potential plunge.
The match also brings a lot of excitement to the players.
“It’s going to be fun to play with the team with a large crowd,” setter Heidi White ‘28 said.
Make sure to come out and support the volleyball team in your best Tiki!
