The beloved Gaslight D&W has held its grand re-opening after undergoing extensive renovations. To mark the re-opening, they held a range of festivities such as games for kids, free samples, and live entertainment. The shoppers were treated to a new, lively atmosphere as they explored the new and improved D&W.
One of the most notable changes is the updated store layout, designed to make shopping more easy and efficient. The store now features improved signage and reorganized sections making it easier for customers to find exactly what they need.
Now when navigating the store, each aisle is named after a street in the East. This small, but meaningful detail makes residents of East Grand Rapids feel that the store has a more personal touch while shopping.
Perhaps the most exciting part of D&W’s renovations is the launch of a new grocery delivery service. Using this service, customers can place orders online and have their groceries delivered straight to their doorstep. Just like other delivery services like Doordash, Instacart, and Uber Eats, it is a convenient option for busy individuals, parents, and elderly residents who may have difficulty making trips to the store.
The store has also launched new lunch deals for students and teachers. Since D&W is right in the middle of Gaslight, it makes it a vital spot for lunch. The new deals include 2 for $1.29 donuts on Tuesdays, a $6.99 salad bar on Wednesdays, $3.99 sandwiches on Thursdays, and finally $5.00 chicken tenders and a choice of a side on Fridays.
“I love walking to D&W for lunch, everything is so delicious and I feel like it’s healthier than a lot of the other Gaslight options,” Said Olive Starck ‘25.
Additionally, they provided a teacher lunch-in and gave the teachers chicken tenders and salad.
“I think it was good to see D&W getting involved with the school,” Mr. Ditty, a science teacher at the high school, said. “Also, it was great to have some food after school for the teachers,”
