Lykins or Not: Third Party is not the way to go

James Lykins, Sport's Editor

Many Americans are not satisfied by either of the two major party candidates running for President. I completely understand why they are feeling this way. On one side of the ticket, you have a person that acts completely inappropriate and not at all how a President should act. Many would see him as an embarrassment to the nation, and believe he would put this country in a deep hole of troubles. On the other side, you have someone who has put labels on herself that aren’t very appealing to many Americans. People classify this person as both a liar and untrustworthy.
This election, because of the huge divide between the two main political parties, has caused many Americans to look for a new candidate to rally behind.
This political season, you will see third party candidates on the rise. One of them being Libertarian Gary Johnson, who has put the label on himself as the alternative candidate to the two major parties. He has built a strong following in this presidential election, however many people do not realize that this man is in no way shape or form fit or ready to be the next Commander in Chief.
Besides the fact that he didn’t know what Aleppo is, or couldn’t name who is favorite world leader is, he has clearly shown that he is not ready to lead this country. Johnson’s policies are considered very radical and if many of his supporters actually learned more about them, they would realize he is not fit to be the President that this country needs. One thing he wants to do is eliminate the federal income tax, which experts say would just drive the income inequality gap up tremendously. He also wants to get rid of several key departments such as Education, and Commerce. In addition, he has no intent to recognize that climate change is a problem, let alone do anything to fight it. Due to the other candidates, many people are desperate for someone to rally behind, and are not doing much questioning of what his vision for America is.
To all who are thinking of supporting him, please consider who you are really voting for. I know you may not want to vote for one of the major party candidates, but at least one of them is ready to be our next President. This person is Sec. Clinton and I believe everyone should be supporting her to be the next President of the United States.
