Girls golf has had a successful week, with their first conference win and setting their best team score of the season. The team is lead by Grace Ruppert ‘17 and Clare McDonald ‘18, and are looking promising for the rest of the season.

“Right now we are playing Jamborees, so our matches are all against the other 6 teams in our conference. We are currently ranked second in our conference behind Grand Rapids South Christian.” McDonald ‘18 said. “We have had two Jamborees this week, one on Monday and one on Wednesday.” Golf won their match on Monday, beating out rival Grand Rapids Christian, and placed second on Wednesday, collecting their best team score of the season.

This year’s team is looking better than ever and is looking strong for the rest of the season. “Our team is definitely stronger than it was last year” Varsity Golf player Claire Montague said. “For the past two years we have had a young team, but we have improved a lot over those two years. This is the best team we’ve had since I have been on the team.”  Their goal this year is to win their conference and to make it to state, and they are in a good position to do so.

The team is excited for the rest of the season, with their next match on Friday, and their first home match on Monday, Sept. 21.
