Instruction Delayed Due To ‘Small Cleaning Equipment Fire,’ School Administration Says
A piece of cleaning equipment caught fire this morning at the high school, causing a two-hour delayed school start time, the school announced in an email early this morning. The fire was put out, but the school, “needs[s] additional time to clean the area and mitigate the operational impact of the fire,” an email to families said. Even though the school has been delayed, the blood drive and KCTC schedules will proceed as scheduled. As a result of the fire, classes will begin at 9:40 and finish at 2:59. This change eliminates the hour scheduled at the end of the day to help students struggling with class because of COVID-19. That hour will be rescheduled next week.
