Gilda’s Club in Grand Rapids is a facility of many locations that provides support and community to those who are struggling with cancer. Whether you or someone who you care about is undergoing treatment, Gilda’s Club provides a safe space to meet and overcome challenges.
LaughFest is an event that happens annually in Grand Rapids and its sole purpose is to put laughter and smiles on people’s faces.
It is essentially a multitude of comedy shows that brings joy to the people watching, and can be a start up event for many rising comedians.
On the LaughFest website laughfestgr.org, it states that “Gilda’s LaughFest, the nation’s first-ever community-wide festival of laughter, [and] has quickly earned a reputation for being one of the nation’s marquee events for both participants and artists.”
This year, there are multiple comedians that are performing that are worth noting. Adam Ray, Dan Soder and Gabby Bryan are some of the many people who you can go watch.
There is also a LaughFest High Five Campaign that is put on by the event. Their motto is, “Together we can reach $20,000, Help us reach our high five goal, $5 at a time”.
It is basically just another fundraiser put on by the organization, in which all of the money goes to helping Gilda’s Club and the people who attend their meetings.
Not only is all of the money from High Five Campaign going to Gilda’s Club but all of the money raised by LaughFest is as well.
All of this sponsoring makes it so Gilda’s Club can continue providing free cancer and grief emotional programs.
The dates for LaughFest this year are from March 5th to 9th. There are shows all over Downtown Grand Rapids on these dates. Tell people you know about LaughFest so it becomes more well known.
