24 Hour Theater is an annual event that the drama program looks forward to all year. For those who don’t know, 24 hour theater is the full process of putting on a show in 24 hours. Writers go in at 7pm on Friday and spend the entire night in the Learning Commons writing 3 plays. Then at 7am directors come in and meet with their writer to talk about their shows. At 7:30am writers go home to sleep and actors come in and start the process of blocking, memorizing lines, and putting the whole thing together.
This year the writers were Teagan Ketler ‘25, Nolan Williamson ‘26, Linnea Dever ‘25, and Tobin Moo ‘26. They crafted three stories, “The Cutting Edge”, “Find That Roommate!”, and “Cake”.
“24 hour theatre was the most tiring and fun thing ever,” actor Marisol Sura ‘27 said.
The drama students seemed to love the whole experience and loved performing the shows.
“My favorite memory would probably be getting to read through our script for the first time and getting to hear how funny it was out loud,” Williamson, a writer, said.
The tickets were $6 for students and the shows were a big hit in the community, great job EGRHS drama for your great performances!
