Ruby Agnok making her mark on the Girls Varsity basketball team
A new school for senior year has proved to be exciting and successful for Ruby Agnok ´17 and her sports career. The 6´4 post player transferred to East Grand Rapids this year from West Michigan Lutheran, and has wasted no time adapting to the atmosphere of East. Agnok has found her niche as a part of the Girls Varsity basketball team as they have embarked on a successful start to the their schedule.
¨My season is going really great so far,¨ Agnok said.
The post has been an essential addition to the team with her presence down low by the basket. Even with what has looked like a smooth transition Agnok has had to get used to the difference of how sports are at East compared to sports at her old school, but has had no trouble embracing the changes.
¨Sports at East are way more intense than at my old school because East is really into winning,¨ said Agnok, ¨and everyone is into beating East so there are a lot of rivalries.¨
Despite these differences at East Agnok has had a strong start to her season with getting a double-double in multiple games, and helping the team achieve their winning record of 7-1. As the team looks forward into the heart of their season Agnok is excited for the opportunities to come.
¨I am looking forward to getting the chance to beat Grand Rapids Christian and to try and win our conference,” Agnok said.
